Indonesia, Malaysia Support Peaceful Solution for Palestine

Jakarta: Indonesia and Malaysia agreed to support peaceful solution for Palestine and the Middle East. That was revealed in a bilateral meeting between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the State Palace, Jakarta on Friday (27/6/2025).

Quoted from presidenri.go.id, President Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia and Malaysia shared the same views on the significance of peaceful solution in conflict area. The two nations agreed to fully support the independence of Palestine.

"Indonesia and Malaysia saw the need for a global collective effort to encourage a peaceful solution for the conflicts," said President Prabowo.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anwar highlighted the developments in Gaza as well as Iran-Israel tension. He expressed a firm stance of Malaysia against Israeli aggression.

"We feel relieved for now with the ceasefire between Israel and Iran," said the Malaysian PM.

PM Anwar also affirmed the importance of the role of ASEAN and bilateral cooperation in facing global challenges. He then gave appreciation for the leadership of Indonesia in the region, including the conflicts both in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

The Friday meeting between the two heads of neighboring states aimed to tighten relations. Apart from highlighting global strategic issues, the meeting also showed the two's shared views in global peace.
